Our Santa Barbara Vineyards
Sanger Estate Vineyard
The Sanger Estate Vineyard is a haven nestled in the heart of the Santa Ynez wine valley, where nature and craftsmanship converge to create an environment ideal for cultivating high-end wine grapes. Our vineyard stands as a testament to the exquisite beauty and essence of this renowned wine region.
Our unique location experiences mild winters and warm summers, providing an extended growing season that allows for the nuanced development of flavors within the grapes. A significant advantage lies in the south-facing slopes of many hills, ensuring our vines receive ample direct sunlight. This advantage becomes particularly pronounced when cultivating varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petite Sirah, where the need for optimal ripeness is paramount.
Situated as one of the easternmost vineyards in the Los Olivos AVA, our 25-acre expanse is meticulously planted with 13 varieties on our main vineyard. The soil, predominantly Elder Sandy Loam, plays a pivotal role in shaping the distinct character of our wines. The Elder series boasts very deep and well-drained soils, formed from alluvial material derived from mixed rock sources. This unique composition contributes to a rich tapestry of minerals and nutrients, enhancing the complexity and depth of our wines.
Off-Site Fruit Sources

Sanger Estate Vineyard - Santa Rita Hills
This vineyard off of Sweeney Canyon, in the cool Sta. Rita Hills AVA, offers ideal growing conditions for the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines that were planted there in 2008. The site’s proximity to the coast ensures that the nights are cool, and the days are warm. The temperature shifts lead to a prosperous growing season, bringing out complex flavors and aromas in the grapes.
