2018 Syrah Hampton Family Vineyard
The beauty of this wine lies in the vineyard, which has a unique soil type which allows ideal drainage, while retaining heat to aid in ripening of the grapes. The vineyard was first planted in the early 1980's, and still has the original vines producing fruit. The entire acreage of the vineyard is dedicated to Syrah.
Santa Barbara County
Immediate aromas of big dark fruit, light mint, and subtle hints of chocolate. The Big dark fruit is also present on the palate with hints of blueberries, plums, and dark cherry. While this Syrah would be perfect without food, it would also pair beautifully with a decadent bone in rib-eye or a juicy bacon cheeseburger
Owned by Dale Hampton, this vineyard was planted in 1982. This vineyard is, and always has been, trained, picked, and pruned by hand. The soil is a unique sub-type of calcareous sandy loam, which is perfect for Syrah.
